PG vs Flat in Pune

A single AC PG room with meals in Baner or Kharadi costs roughly ₹12,000-₹16,000. A 1 BHK flat in the same area costs ₹14,000-₹20,000 plus electricity, internet, gas and groceries — usually pushing your total to ₹22,000-₹28,000 for one person.

A 2 BHK in Wakad rents for ₹20,000-₹24,000. Split between two flatmates, you pay ₹10,000-₹12,000 each — cheaper than a PG with comparable privacy. The math tips in favour of a flat as soon as you have a flatmate.

PGs come with rules — guest policy, gate timings, food timings, sometimes even visitor restrictions. A flat is yours. If privacy matters or you keep odd hours, choose a flat.

PGs include 2 meals a day from a mess — convenient but limited. In a flat you decide: cook at home, order in, or eat out. If you enjoy cooking or have dietary requirements, a flat is the obvious choice.
